Description
The Patek Philippe Celestial Ref. 6102R-001 transforms the wristwatch into a miniature representation of the night sky. Part of Patek Philippe’s prestigious Grand Complications collection, this exceptional astronomical timepiece combines traditional haute horlogerie with an intricate celestial display.
The watch is presented in a refined 18K rose-gold case measuring 44 mm in diameter and 10.58 mm thick, paired with a sophisticated black celestial dial. The dial uses layered sapphire-crystal elements to create a sense of depth, displaying the configuration of the night sky in the Northern Hemisphere together with the apparent movement of the stars and the position and phases of the Moon.
At the heart of the watch is Patek Philippe’s self-winding Caliber 240 LU CL C, an exceptionally slim astronomical movement measuring only 6.81 mm in thickness. The movement incorporates a 22K gold off-center mini-rotor and provides approximately 38 to 48 hours of power reserve.
Beyond conventional hours and minutes, the Celestial provides a remarkable range of astronomical indications, including the sky chart, Moon’s position and phases, angular motion of the Moon, and the meridian passage of both the Moon and Sirius. A central hand provides the date while remaining visually integrated into the astronomical composition of the dial.
The black celestial dial is complemented by a hand-stitched black alligator leather strap, creating a sophisticated contrast with the warm tone of the rose-gold case. With its combination of astronomical complications, elegant proportions and traditional Swiss craftsmanship, the Celestial Ref. 6102R-001 represents a distinctive expression of Patek Philippe’s Grand Complications philosophy.
